THE NATURE OF LAVAL
(TLN) – Throughout the summer months, the Centre de la Nature’s Halte environnementale raises awareness and offers information about the environment. Located near the greenhouse, the Halte environnementale allows visitors to discover an area demonstrating eco gardens and domestic compost, and offers information on many topics such as:
* eco facilities;
* maintenance of grass and the fight against white worms;
* herbi-recycling
* recycling
* domestic composting
* household hazardous waste
* greenhouse gases (GHG)
* saving drinking water
* ragweed, poison ivy, and other undesirable plants
* embankments
* dead leaves
You will also find certain pamphlets regarding the activities and the municipal rules about the environment. These information days and activities will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Sunday from June 14 to Sept. 13, as well as on June 23 and 24, July 1 and Oct. 11. In order to improve these information days, certain partners will join forces with the Action Environnment program, such as:
* Eco Mobile (June 21),
* RÉSEAU environnement (June 24 and July 19),
* Centre d’interprétation de l’eau (C.I.EAU) (July 5),
* Forum jeunesse (July 12),
* Jeunes bénévoles en action (July 12),
