Illegal tobacco sales operation shut down

A special squad to investigate illegal tobacco sales found and have ended an operation in a private house on Brien Avenue. A 27 year-old man was arrested and 40,000 cigarettes at a value of $14,000 were seized. Inside the home, police also found and seized 200 pills of speed, valued at $5,000, 150 cannabis plants, and one firearm which was improperly stored. A Toyota 2004 Corolla, which was used to transport cigarettes to customers, was also seized. The VITAL squad specializes in illegal tobacco sales and is made up of police officers and agents from the provincial health ministry.
