‘Hooked on School Days’ provides encouragement for potential dropouts

For the second year, the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board is joining nearly a dozen other organizations and agencies with a vested interest in education, to promote an anti-dropout program – Hooked on School Days – which encourages students to continue their studies, rather than quitting school.

Mille-Îles MNA announces $1,138,629 in spending at local schools

Mille-Îles Liberal MNA Francine Charbonneau says Quebec will spend $1,138,629 making sure the primary and high schools in her riding are well-maintained in the coming years. The government has set aside $366.4 for maintenance at primary and high schools across Quebec in 2011 and 2012.

The Mouvement lavallois is responding to the Vaillancourt administration’s failure to honor a pledge to build a mega sports and culture complex with a proposal of its own. According to the ML, Laval needs not one, but two new, if somewhat smaller, arenas in the east and west ends of the island.

St-Jean-sur-Richelieu National Bantam AA hockey tournament
Jérémy Deschenaux scored an unassisted goal for the Sénateurs at 2:18 of the first period to take the lead against the Espoir du Lac St. Jean and the Sénateurs de Laval are off to a good start in the final championship game of the St-Jean-sur-Richelieu tournament. Mathieu Blanchette of the Espoir du Lac St. Jean tied it up late at 9:31 of the first period to make it 1-1.
